Student visa applications
Most embassies now route student visa applications through an appointed visa application centre (VFS Global, TLScontact, BLS and others) rather than the embassy counter. Check the mission’s visa page first.

Documents you will usually need
Offer or admission letter, proof of tuition payment, financial solvency documents, academic transcripts, IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent, passport valid beyond your course, and medical or police clearance where required.

Apply early
Peak intake seasons create long queues for interview slots. For September intakes many missions advise applying three to four months ahead. Slots are released on the mission’s own booking system.

Where the missions are
Almost all resident missions sit in the Baridhara Diplomatic Zone, Gulshan or Banani in Dhaka. A few countries also run consulates in Chattogram and Sylhet.
